Connor Melhorn was 1 for 2 with a double and two RBI to lead Tuckahoe American over Richmond County yesterday 5-0 in the State 11-12-year-olds Little League Baseball tournament.

Jack Gerstenmaier was 2 for 3 and drove in two runs for Tuckahoe American. Drew Bond threw three innings of no-hit ball with four strikeouts and Sam Coltrane tossed the other three allowing just two hits and stuck out five.

MANASSAS - Sam Dodson threw a complete game and struck out eight to lead Glen Allen over Manassas 9-1 in the Babe Ruth 15-year-olds State tournament.

Todd Stebbing was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI, Nick Tambellini was 2 for 3 with three runs and Chase Blunt added two RBI.

Will Hodges hit a three-run homer to spark an eight-run fourth inning and lift Tuckahoe American over Louisa 9-6. Jack Gerstenmaier added a double and scored three runs and Austin White was 1 for 3 with a double and three RBI.

Josh Holley hit a three-run home run for Louisa, Gavin Layman was 2 for 4 with a run and Aaron Guill was 2 for 3.

Claire Guelter threw eight strikeouts but it wasn't enough as Mechanicsville fell to Honaker yesterday 4-1 in the State Little League 9-10-year-olds Softball tournament. Austyn Merrill was 2 for 3 and drove in Mechanicsville's only run.

Stephanie Ray was 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBI for Honaker, and Amanda Van Dyke was 2 for 3 with a triple.
