Daniella H. Kyriakides was found guilty of embezzling $4,900 from a Clover Hill High School booster club. A former Chesterfield County substitute teacher was sentenced yesterday to three years in prison, all suspended, for embezzling $4,900 last year from Clover Hill High School's Keynote Band Booster Club. Yet Daniella H. Kyriakides, 55, insisted on the witness stand she did nothing wrong.
 
A federal magistrate judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for a man charged with burning down High Knob observation tower. A federal public defender requested the evaluation to determine whether Nicholas Owens was sane at the time of the fire and is competent to stand trial.
 
Louisa County's government ended almost two years of wrangling with the approval of a contract to build Moss-Nuckols Elementary School for $16,407,365. The Louisa Board of Supervisors appropriated the money for the new school yesterday at a joint meeting with the School Board inside the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center. The School Board approved the contract at a subsequent meeting inside the community center.
