State budget reductions could result in up to 54 layoffs at Virginia Commonwealth University under the cost-cutting contingency plans ordered by Gov. Timothy M. Kaine.
David Ray Worsham appeared in court yesterday on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his 83-year-old mother. A judge said Worsham, 55, will be held without bond in the killing of Virginia Worsham. The suspect appeared on closed-circuit television during yesterday's court hearing in Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
