ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Race drivers Drew Herring, Bobby Gill and Michael Rich completed tire tests for BF Goodrich this week in preparation for the Nov. 1 Blacks Tire American 200, the final event of the year for the Hooters Pro Cup tour.
For decades, the one-mile Rockingham track known to fans as The Rock was a twice-a-year stop for NASCARs top series. But NASCAR stopped racing there and more recently the track has been revived with other sanctioning bodies events.
The Hooters Pro Cup drivers said they looked forward to racing on the venerable superspeedway.
"I love speed and this place has a lot of it," said Herring. "I am really excited to be able to race at Rockingham."
The race will start at 1 p.m. on Nov. 1 Tickets are $28 for frontstretch reserved seats, $25 for reserved seats in Turns 1 and 2. Children under 12 will be admitted free.
Tickets include admission to a post-race concert by country music singer John Anderson. Camping outside the speedway is free.
