Hampden-Sydney College senior Andrew Patrick Murphy recently presented his Summer Research Honors Project in a public presentation at the college.
Murphy is one of a select group of students who undertake summer research with members of the Hampden-Sydney faculty. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of its findings.
Murphy's project for English was titled "Epic Tradition: An In-depth Look at How the Epic Works and What It Means to Achieve."
He is a graduate of Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Murphy of Midlothian.
Hampden-Sydney College, which first enrolled students in 1775, is a private men's college.
